Sizing Guide

All of our collar sizes are based on where two points of the buckle meet. The best way to know for sure is to measure your dogs current collar, or use a fabric ruler around their neck.
- Small fits a neck that is 13" - 16" in circumference.
- Medium fits a neck that is 15.5" - 19.5" in circumference.
- Large fits a neck that is 19" - 22" in circumference.
- X-Large fits a neck that is 19" - 26" in circumference.

What Makes The Landshark Collar Better Than Other "Tactical" Collars?

I'm glad you asked! We do a few things different that we believe lead to a stronger and more comfortable collar for your dog.

  • All metal hardware, and we only use authentic Cobra Buckles, not knockoffs. There's only one "real" Cobra Buckle, originally designed for mountain climbing. Not only is it wildly strong, but it's designed to not fail-open, practically ensuring it never just comes unclipped on it's own. 
  • Milspec/Commercial Variant webbing on the outside for abrasion resistance, soft pack webbing on the inside for comfort. Most other collars simply use two layers of Milspec webbing, which could be irritating on your dog's neck. The two diffferent materials take longer to make, but makes for an overall better collar. 
  • Made in the USA by people who care about building a good product. When you email us for help or questions, you're talking to the actual people who will make your collar. 

Should I Get My Dog A 1.5" Collar Or A 1" Collar?

We typically recommend the 1.5" for medium to large breeds, such as Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Standard Poodle, German Shorthair, etc, especially if they tend to pull on their leash. The extra width fits well on their wider necks and helps distribute force over a larger area. Need something even wider? Check out our 2" Pro Collar.

How Heavy Is The 1.5" Sport Collar?

Surprisingly light! Around 6oz. The Cobra buckle is machined from aluminum, a strong but light metal, which keeps the collar lightweight and comfortable.

How Does the Velcro Sizing For The Custom Patches Work?

All Landshark Custom Collar Patches are 4" long. If you select "Yes" for the velcro strip, your collar will have 4" for a patch after the handle. Adding the velcro strip changes the adjustability range, so be sure to double check which size you selected! If you order an American Flag Patch, please request in the order notes for us to add 6.5" of velcro to accommodate both patches! (available on the Large and X-Large)

Can You Do Accent Stitching On This Collar?

Yes! For a small upcharge ($5) we can use colored thread for all the stitching, including the 64-point bartacks by the buckle. Just reach out to us on the website chat, Instagram DMs, or via email!
